Aatmasamman Foundation works to support individuals experiencing mental health difficulties and challenging life circumstances through structured rehabilitation, shelter, regular care and everyday assistance. Our approach focuses on creating a safe and respectful environment where individuals can move towards greater stability and dignity. Alongside rehabilitation, the Foundation supports regular meals through Nitya Annadan Seva, health related care, family reconnection and greater awareness around mental health. We believe meaningful recovery requires more than temporary assistance. It requires patience, responsible support and an environment where every individual is treated with respect.
The story of Aatmasamman Foundation began with a deeply personal experience in the life of its founder, Dr. Vijay Patil, and gradually grew into a mission dedicated to dignity, recovery and meaningful reintegration.
Dr. Vijay Patil’s inspiration to establish Aatmasamman Foundation emerged from his own family experience. His mother, Mrs. Pramilabai, faced mental health challenges, allowing him to understand closely the difficulties experienced by affected individuals and their families.
That personal journey gave rise to a larger purpose. Dr. Vijay Patil resolved to create a supportive environment where people facing similar challenges could receive shelter, rehabilitation, care and the opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity.
What began as a personal commitment gradually developed into Aatmasamman Foundation, an organisation focused on helping individuals recover, regain confidence and reconnect with society in a meaningful and independent way.
The Foundation continues its work through public participation and the commitment of its associates and volunteers. Proper acknowledgement and receipts are maintained for financial support, keeping transparency at the centre of its approach.
Every individual deserves respect, care, independence and a meaningful opportunity to begin again.
